Elyse Cuevas is a story and visdev artist working in animation in sunny Los Angeles, California. 

Growing up, she was only allowed to watch cartoons—a rule doled out by her parents, who feared any show with live actors would say the word “stupid” and somehow turn her into a rowdy child. But nowadays, she views this formerly perceived punishment as a positive part of her life. It did, after all, lead to her love of animation. Once she saw that she could bring the same joy she felt while watching animation to others, she never looked back. 

Coming from a mixed cultural background, she strives to create a space on screen for kids of all walks of life. Through her work she continues to further the narrative of visibility and acceptance, that those before her have made strides to accomplish.

When she is not working on art she loves to bake banana bread, go on boba runs with her sister (#the626 #SGV), and play with her four-legged companion.
